Innovation

Leveraging the expertise of key communities, RILA’s Retail Innovation Center (RIC) is encouraging greater technology and process innovation in areas of common need, such as supply chain, asset protection, and compliance. By foreshadowing the market opportunity for such innovations to a network of startups, accelerators, and VCs, RILA informs their focus and investments.

Many of RILA’s executive networks have engaged in startup presentations, shark tanks, and speed dating, which has exposed retailers to a curated group of startups and investors that are developing solutions to retail challenges. These events have resulted in numerous learnings particularly as retailers looked to technology solutions to address operating during COVID-19.

RILA executive networks explore the policy considerations that the use of new technologies creates and RILA will continue to educate policy makers on the challenges and opportunities that those technologies and innovations bring to the retail ecosystem.
