What LINK2026 Revealed About the Future of Retail Supply Chains

We just wrapped LINK: The Retail Supply Chain Conference—an energizing few days spent connecting with industry leaders and exchanging ideas. This event is an unmatched opportunity to hear directly from retailers about their current supply chain challenges, discuss strategies for navigating today’s environment, and explore innovative solutions that push us all forward. LINK consistently balances long-term, big-picture thinking with practical insights and tools that can be applied immediately, and this year’s event delivered on both fronts in a meaningful way.

Through expert panels, curated peer-to-peer discussions, and countless informal conversations, the conference offered a clear view into the topics and trends shaping the year ahead, as well as the metrics that will define success in an increasingly complex landscape for supply chain leaders.

As expected, there was a plethora of conversations around AI’s impact on supply chains and how to effectively harness the technology for real results. How to lead—and succeed—amid a period of intense uncertainty similarly emerged as a hot topic, as tariffs, inflationary pressures, and geopolitical tensions continue to loom over the industry.

What stands out most is the adaptability of today’s supply chain leaders—and their willingness to openly share lessons learned with peers. That spirit of collaboration is what truly sets LINK apart.

Here are just a few of the key takeaways I gathered from LINK2026:
  1. Supply chain fundamentals may not be sexy, but you must have solid basics down before doing the flashy things.
  2. Resilience and agility matter as much efficiency and cost.
  3. Discipline is critical. All decisions must flow from improving the customer experience.
  4. Cross-functional alignment is key, but collaboration requires clear processes, roles, and ownership.
  5. Without frontline workforce AND executive leadership on board, transformation will end before it starts.
  6. Progress—and ultimately success—requires partners aligned to your goals and willing to communicate frankly.
I’ll continue to reflect on these themes as we move further into 2026 and closely watch how retailers evolve their supply chains to meet the moment. The conversations and connections forged at LINK will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for the year ahead.
