- Predictive Prevention: Theft Modeling at Target
Overview:
RILA has once again partnered with the University of Texas McCombs School of Business Master of Science in Business Analytics Program to address a pressing industry challenge: measuring the impact of AP programs and performance. Over the past several months, the students teamed up with Target to analyze in-store data regarding apprehensions, merchandise recoveries, empty packaging, and other indicators of external theft to develop a predictive model. The model identifies statistically significant correlations that can be leveraged to inform decision making around AP, including resource allocation and merchandise protection. The students will share key findings that could serve as a framework to apply statistically significant correlations and an additional lens that could assist in curating and measuring your strategies and team’s performance.
