Overview
The Payments Committee is made up of financial, payments, legal, and government relations executives from the largest and most innovative retail companies. Members of the committee provide insight and guidance on issues such as interchange fees, ecommerce routing, EMV migration, gift card fraud, and credit competition reform.
Legacy players in the payments arena continue to use proprietary technology to maintain their market share. The Payments Committee advocates for the need for more competition in the ecosystem and how the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Reserve must work together to ensure routing laws are not circumvented by major card networks.
The Payments Committee holds several fly-ins throughout the year, where payments executives travel to Washington to meet with regulators, agency leaders, lawmakers and their staff.
