Comments on Conflict Minerals Proposed Rule

The Consumer Electronics Retailers Coalition (“CERC”) and the Retail Industry Leaders Association (“RILA”) submit these Comments in response to the above-referenced Notice of Proposed Rule.1 RILA promotes consumer choice and economic freedom through public policy and industry operational excellence. RILA members include the world’s largest and most innovative retail companies. RILA members include more than 200 retailers, product manufacturers, and service suppliers, which together account for more than $1.5 trillion in annual sales, millions of jobs and more than 100,000 stores, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers domestically and abroad. CERC is a public policy organization of major retailers of consumer electronics products including Amazon.com, Best Buy, RadioShack, Sears Holdings (K-Mart, Sears), Target, Walmart, and the leading industry trade associations - RILA and the National Retail Federation (“NRF”).
