Hubert Joly is chairman and CEO of Best Buy Co. Inc., the leading provider of consumer electronics products and services, with approximately 125,000 employees in North America and $40 billion in annual revenue. 

After joining Best Buy in September 2012, Mr. Joly led the company’s successful Renew Blue turnaround. As a result, Best Buy stabilized and grew comparable sales and profit; increased customer satisfaction and employee morale; enhanced the in-store experience with the addition of thousands of shops-in-shop developed in partnership with many of the world’s leading technology companies; and, created a richer multichannel retail experience. 

Now, he is leading the company into the next phase of its transformation, called Best Buy 2020: Building the New Blue. This strategy aims to drive growth by providing in-store, online and in-home services and solutions that help customers pursue their passions and enrich their lives with the help of technology. 

Prior to Best Buy, Mr. Joly was CEO of Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company. Before that, he led Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Vivendi Universal Games and Electronic Data Systems’ business in France. 

He serves on the boards of Ralph Lauren Corp., the Retail Industry Leaders Association, Minnesota Business Partnership, Minneapolis Institute of Art and Minnesota Orchestra.
