Consumer Products Committee
A forum for quality assurance, product stewardship, sourcing, legal, and government affairs professionals to share information.
Overview
The Consumer Products Committee (CPC) is RILA's forum for quality assurance, quality control, product safety, sourcing, legal, product stewardship, and government affairs professionals who work to develop and implement consumer product safety programs within leading retailers. Participating in the CPC allows RILA's members to share information with other leading retailers, hear from industry experts, and engage in peer-to-peer benchmarking discussions on product safety compliance challenges, including new compliance trends and proposed legislation and regulations.
Understanding the current regulatory landscape for consumer products helps retailers continually provide safe and quality products that customers demand. The expertise of committee members helps RILA advocate on members' behalf for policy changes on product issues before Congress and federal regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The CPC holds monthly calls to update members on upcoming and pending legislation, regulation and enforcemnet trends; as well as regular peer-to-peer benchmarking opportunities to address the needs and priorities of members as they work to face the ever-evolving federal and state compliance regulations. Additionally, the committee holds at least one in-person meeting every year, which includes educational sessions and peer-to-peer benchmarking opportunities.
For more information on joining the CPC, please contact Luisa Lobo, Senior Manager, Legal & Regulatory Affairs at luisa.lobo@rila.org or Susan Kirsch, Vice President, Legal & Regulatory Affairs at susan.kirsch@rila.org.
