Consumer Reports’ Green Choice Label Webinar

Consumer Reports' (CR) Green Choice Label was created to help consumers identify products that are better for the environment and incentivize businesses to produce sustainable products that are reliable, affordable, and accessible. Attendees joined the webinar to hear about the various testing datapoints, from efficiency to reliability to materials/ingredients, that might go into a product category's Green Choice Label scoring process. Consumer Reports also shared how retailers may be able to use the CR Label or its underlying data to strengthen customer-facing product data, reporting, and supplier engagement efforts, including an opportunity for Q&A and brainstorming. The session included information about how CR data is being leveraged for the Direct-Use Product Energy Database (DPED) and may be leveraged for an additional project by The Sustainability Consortium and several retailers concerning small appliance efficiency.
