RLC Welcomes Josh Moore as Vice President of Litigation

The Retail Litigation Center (RLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Moore as its new Vice President of Litigation. Moore joins the RLC with a distinguished background in appellate and trial litigation, bringing deep expertise and a commitment to advancing the legal interests of the retail industry.

“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to the RLC team,” said Monica Welt, Incoming General Counsel of RILA and Incoming President of the RLC. “Josh’s experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for sound legal policy and defend the interests of retailers—America’s largest private sector employer—in state and federal courts.”

Prior to joining the RLC, Moore served as a trial attorney in the National Courts Section of the Civil Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. He began his legal career clerking for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and later practiced as a litigation associate at Sidley Austin LLP. Moore holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from Centre College.

“I am honored to join the Retail Litigation Center and look forward to working alongside such a talented team to champion the legal interests of retailers nationwide,” said Josh Moore. “Together, we will strive to address the challenges facing the industry and ensure that the retail industry’s voice is heard in the courts.”

Established in 2010 as the independent legal arm of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), the RLC has filed more than 250 amicus briefs on issues ranging from arbitration to the appropriate standard for premises liability for retailers to the impact of organized retail crime on communities and retail activities.

“As I prepare to leave RILA and the RLC after next week’s Retail Law Conference, I am truly excited to pass the RLC baton to Monica and Josh,” said Deborah White, RLC President and RILA General Counsel. “The RLC is the voice of the retail industry in the judiciary, and its charge will be critically important to retailers in the years ahead.”
