Compliance & Ethics Council
Chief Compliance & Ethics Officers address issues that affect the retail environment and its vast compliance obligations.
Overview
Chief Ethics and Compliance Officers help lead companies’ ethical culture and have an active role in identifying, managing and reducing ethics and compliance risks that affect the retail industry and its vast scope of transactions, customers, employees, locations, products and modes of media. RILA's Compliance Council is composed of members’ chief ethics and compliance officers and the business and legal executives that have primary responsibility for oversight of their companies’ ethics and compliance programs. Led by a leadership team made up of RILA members, the Compliance Council provides an opportunity for members to engage at an executive level on strategic issues related to the development implementation, management, and oversight of robust and effective retail corporate compliance programs. Compliance Council activities include in-person meetings, educational webinars, member case studies, and benchmarking surveys. These activities enable members to identify emerging issues and risks and share information and leading practices. Recent topics include:
- Communicating Company Goals and Culture of Ethics and Compliance
- Effective Ethics and Compliance Training Across Complex Retail Operations
