Retailers Respond to Tragic Flooding in Texas

Retailers are on the frontlines responding to the devastating floods that recently hit central Texas. Disaster relief efforts are a critical component to leading retailers’ commitment to their communities. Retailers partner with first responders, law enforcement, nonprofits and local governments to ensure communities have the supplies and resources necessary to assist with search operations and rebuilding efforts.

Here is a look at how retailers are supporting efforts in central Texas:

Dollar Tree

Our hearts are with our customers and communities impacted by the devastating floods in Texas. In challenging times like this, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve. Dollar Tree has made a monetary donation to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which has recently launched The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support rescue and rebuilding efforts in the region. We also provide annual support to the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program which provides life-saving relief to areas impacted by disaster. We are continuing to monitor additional needs for support and opportunities to care for our customers.

Gap Inc.

Gap Inc. and Gap Foundation are donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross, which is on the ground providing critical aid. We’re working to provide in-kind donations to organizations serving those displaced. Our Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta stores in the surrounding areas remain operational and will offer community discounts.

As always, Gap Inc. will match employee donations to the charity of their choice. We will continue to monitor the situation and explore how Gap Inc. and our brands can best support our customers, teams, and the communities of Central Texas in the weeks ahead.

"My sincerest thanks to our teams who immediately jumped into action and offered support. This is humanity at its best, and I’m beyond proud of how our people, and Gap Inc. as a whole, continue to meet these moments with purpose and heart. Because we've always done more than sell clothes – especially when our communities need us most," Richard Dickson, Chief Executive Officer at Gap Inc.

H-E-B

Our H-E-B Family is heartbroken by the enormous devastation and loss caused by the flooding in and around the Kerrville area. We are grateful to local authorities, first responders, and volunteers for their tireless efforts.

Kerrville, where our company was started, and the Hill Country have a special place in the heart of our H-E-B family. As part of our initial outreach there, we are working closely with the Red Cross, local officials, and first responders to support their needs. Additionally, we have sent aid to support efforts in San Angelo, Marble Falls, and other impacted areas.

Our teams are staying close to the hardest-hit areas, and we will continue to provide needed support as these tragic situations evolve.

Home Depot

The Home Depot Foundation is committing $250,000 to support disaster relief efforts in communities impacted by the flash floods in central Texas. This funding brings The Home Depot Foundation’s total disaster response commitments in 2025 to nearly $9 million, building on more than $8.5 million granted earlier this year.

The Foundation is working alongside its longstanding nonprofit partners, including World Central Kitchen, Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing and Team Rubicon, to deliver critical relief supplies, meals and other resources to affected communities. Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, is also identifying donations needed to support cleanup and other recovery efforts with local organizations.

“We are keeping everyone impacted by the floods in our thoughts and are committed to helping central Texas recover,” said Erin Izen, executive director of The Home Depot Foundation. “As waters recede, we’ll continue working with nonprofit partners on the ground to assess the full scope of damage and ensure needs are met.”

Lowe's Home Improvement

In response to one of the deadliest flood events in Texas history, Lowe's has pledged $500,000 to aid recovery and relief work, partnering with nonprofit organizations and first responders to provide help where it's needed most.

Buckets, Boots, and Community: In stores in San Angelo and Kerrville, Lowe's teams are already hard at work—filling and handing out more than 500 "Bucket Brigade" kits stocked with essential cleaning and recovery supplies. These kits include gloves, trash bags, cleaning agents, masks, and more—everything families need to begin clearing out flood-damaged homes.

“We are connected to the community.  The associates in the store live in the community and everyone here knows each other,” said Lowe’s District Manager over the region James Benne, “the community counts on Lowe’s to be there everyday for basic needs and counts on us in times of need to step up and be a leader in the community.”

Publix Super Markets

Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) is donating $300,000 to the San Angelo Disaster Relief Fund and Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to help support relief efforts following the recent deadly floods in Texas.

“We extend our sympathies to the families that have been devastated by the loss of life and damage caused by the recent flash floods in Texas,” said Publix Charities Executive Director John Doran. “While the devastation is outside Publix’s operating area, we are very familiar with how natural disasters can affect a community and feel compelled to help.”

PSMC’s donation will help community foundations working with local organizations that are providing support for those impacted and contributing to long-term recovery efforts in the region.

Target

"Following the devastating flash floods in Texas Hill Country, Target is working quickly to support recovery and rebuilding efforts across the impacted areas. Our team members in the Austin and San Antonio area are volunteering to cook meals for first responders, delivering needed supplies to rescue efforts and partnering with disaster relief organizations in the hardest hit areas.

Additionally, Target is donating $250,000 to support Texas flood response. The donation will be distributed to local and national disaster relief organizations. This donation is on top of the $1.5 million Target proactively donated earlier this year to domestic disaster relief partners to respond to disasters of all sizes, including disasters like the one in Texas. Target stores in central and south Texas remain open to provide essentials to guests and the community."

Tractor Supply

“On behalf of the 52,000 plus Tractor Supply Team Members, our hearts are with all those impacted by the devastating floods in Central Texas. Our stores are open and stand ready to assist the community as recovery and rebuilding efforts continue. We are actively working with local animal shelters who are providing life-saving services to displaced animals and pets through our partnership with Relief for Rescues by Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation. Additionally, through our Distribution Center in Waco, TX, we are teaming up with the Midway FFA to bring much needed supplies to the area.

Whether it’s providing ongoing financial support to our long-standing partners like the American Red Cross, Team Rubicon, Farmers Veteran Coalition, or any one of our Hometown Heroes organizations—or by providing assistance at the local level through gift cards and supplies, Tractor Supply is supporting the Texas community where so many of our Team Members call home.”

Walmart

We’re here to help our associates, customers and members impacted by severe flooding along the Guadalupe River in Texas. Our teams are working closely with local leaders and first responders to determine how we can help and provide support where it’s needed most.
