Upstream Innovation - Packaging Solutions

Based on the Upstream Innovation Guide recently launched by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Josephine Christoffersen, Research Analyst, New Plastics Economy Initiative, covered what upstream innovation is and how it applies to three key circular economy strategies, focusing particularly on reuse. Also outlined were insights on the benefits and opportunities of upstream innovation, including how it can help inform retailer supplier engagement. Josephine showcased best practice examples of upstream innovations relevant to retailers and was joined by Walmart, Walgreens, and Ulta Beauty to highlight their recent reuse programs.
