“We welcome Gene Scalia’s nomination to serve as labor secretary. Throughout his career, Gene has proven himself to be a gifted attorney and a thoughtful and effective expert in labor and workforce policy,” said RILA Chief Operating Officer Brian Dodge. “We look forward to supporting his confirmation and working together to support the retail industry’s diverse, innovative, and skilled workforce.”
Scalia served as counsel to RILA’s board of directors from to 2012-2019. This is the second individual from RILA’s board of directors to be chosen as an Administration cabinet member. In 2013, former REI CEO Sally Jewell was chosen to serve as Secretary of the Interior.
