RLC Tariff Refund Consumer Demands Webinar

Retailers are facing a growing wave of class actions seeking consumer refunds of costs related to IEEPA tariffs, driving news coverage of how companies are handling the payments. The suits are prompting companies to closely evaluate their terms of use and contract language to assess (both affirmatively and defensively) their potential exposure. Publicly, companies are also wrestling with how best to communicate their response to these developments and what the future may hold if and when tariffs are refunded by the government.

Our speakers from RLC law firm member Crowell & Moring (Jason Stiehl, Sarah Gilbert, and Henry Leung) are on the front lines of defending these claims and advising retailers on related risk mitigation. They discuss the current litigation landscape, key issues to be aware of, and practical strategies retailers can take to address risk. Ginger Gibson, RILA’s VP of Media Relations, also presents on how retailers should think about crafting a PR response to these lawsuits.
