Effective retail crime prevention and prosecution depend on strong communication between retailers, law enforcement and prosecutors. This survey template helps prosecutors gather information from retailers in their jurisdiction to identify high-impact offenders, locate key witnesses, preserve evidence and better prepare retail theft cases for prosecution.
The survey covers retailer asset protection contacts and policies for approaching and detaining suspected offenders, referral thresholds for law enforcement, evidence-sharing requirements and diversion programs. It also gathers information about retail theft prevention technology, including CCTV, RFID, license plate readers, remote monitoring, body-worn cameras and other security tools.
The template also provides a framework for sharing information about habitual and high-impact retail theft offenders, including incident history, aggregate losses, subject images and methods of theft. Download the Retail Crime Partnership Survey to support stronger information sharing and collaboration between retailers and prosecutors.
