RILA Applauds Administration’s Effort to Move Trade Forward

Talks with Japan, EU and UK

Today, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), the trade association for America’s largest and most innovative retail brands, issued a statement following the Administration’s announcement that it intends to negotiate three separate trade agreements with Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom.

“We applaud the Administration for launching negotiations with some our most vital trading partners. Today’s announcement is the right step forward. Reducing trade barriers, bolstering opportunities for U.S. businesses, and eliminating tariffs - which are a tax on consumers - will keep America competitive. We look forward to engaging with the Administration as they set forth negotiating objectives that will benefit American retailers, our employees, and our customers,” said Hun Quach, vice president of international trade for RILA.
