Retailers Encouraged by Bipartisan Infrastructure Progress

Michael Hanson, senior executive vice president, public affairs at the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), issued the following statement on the bipartisan framework deal announced today on infrastructure spending:

“The nation’s infrastructure networks are in desperate need of a significant overhaul to eliminate congestion and delays throughout the supply chain, and it’s encouraging to see a bipartisan framework. We need political leaders to work together to make wise investments in sound, long-term national policies that will allow U.S. companies to increase productivity and stay competitive globally. Today’s announcement demonstrates that bipartisanship on big issues is achievable, and retailers applaud the leaders who were instrumental in negotiating a path forward. We will review the details of the deal to ensure it will meet the needs of the retail community and the 50 million jobs the industry supports.”
