Retailers Applaud Confirmation of Scalia to Labor Post

The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) issued the following statement from Brian Dodge, chief operating officer, commending the U.S. Senate for voting to confirm Mr. Eugene Scalia as Secretary of Labor:
“RILA commends the full Senate for voting to confirm Eugene Scalia to serve as Secretary of Labor. Mr. Scalia is a highly accomplished lawyer who understands the myriad complexities of the statutes the Department of Labor administers.
“The mission of the Department of Labor is to enforce laws that govern the workplace. The retail community has hundreds of thousands of workplaces and employs millions of workers. Mr. Scalia’s experience counseling the retail industry gives him an additional and important perspective on the workforce. RILA looks forward to working with him on critical workplace issues that impact the lives of millions of Americans.”
