Weathering the Storm

From Hurricane Harvey to Irma to Maria, recent years have brought some of the worst natural disasters in our nation’s history. These events showed us the incredible strength of our community when we come together to help those in need.

As our nation’s largest private sector employer, retailers are often first on the ground making sure employees and customers are safe, and that they have the supplies they need to survive. By redirecting supplies and distributing them to communities in need, allocating funds to relief efforts, and aiding the rebuilding process, retailers underscored their commitment to the community.

RILA worked with local and federal agencies around the clock to keep our Retail Operations groups - including AP and supply chain - updated on the latest developments. We understand that timely information, especially in the time of crisis, is essential to assist our members.

The retail community is consistently on the front lines in providing much needed relief for Americans dealing with disaster. Wheather its providing water, medical supplies, fuel, or shelter, retailers are doing everything they can to help communities rebuild in the wake of decastation. We are committed to providing hope to those that need it most.

RILA’s AP and supply chain communities kept lines of communication open during this year’s disaster relief efforts, sharing critical operational information among themselves and with external stakeholders.

RILA will continue to foster relationships with key partners like FEMA and the Red Cross to support our members and our communities in times of crisis.
