Retail Dive Runs RILA POV on Big Tech

Big tech platforms are in the hotseat in Washington. Concerns over anti-competitive practices are mounting and policy makers are paying attention.

Advocating for leading retailers, RILA sent a comment letter to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) arguing that the rulebook needs to be modernized in order to protect consumers and free-market competition.

RILA Chief Operating Officer Brian Dodge elaborated on our concerns in an exclusive opinion piece published by Retail Dive on July 30.

Left unchecked, technology has the power to subvert, rather than empower consumers: blocking choice, deceiving customers, and steering business toward favored corporations.
