- Sandy Kennedy
Sandy Kennedy was named RILA president in December 2002. Under her leadership, RILA has grown from a niche trade association into the primary trade association for America’s largest and most innovative retail brands. During her tenure as president, RILA has led a number of high-profile nationwide public policy campaigns that have produced significant victories for the retail community and its customers. Kennedy has also incorporated new service offerings that focus on education, innovation and advocacy to best meet the needs of such a dynamic industry. Kennedy works closely with the RILA Board of Directors, comprised of the CEOs of America’s largest retailers, to ensure that the operational and public policy interests of RILA members are effectively promoted, and to ensure the retail industry continues to grow and prosper. Kennedy is a member of the White House Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.
Immediately prior to joining RILA, Kennedy served as director of the Leadership Dialogue Series for Accenture, a global management consulting and technology services company. The program targeted C-suite executives in the retail and consumer goods and service industries. From 1993 to 2000, she was senior vice president of membership services for the National Retail Federation (NRF). In that position Kennedy directed NRF’s revenue-generating businesses, including membership, conferences and the annual convention, as well as the activities of retail operational committees.
