John Chen

Vice President, Marketing Operations and User Strategy

John Chen serves as the Vice President of Marketing Operations & User Strategy.  In this role, John is responsible for the association’s overall marketing initiatives and leads the strategic direction for RILA’s infrastructure and practices to improve the customer and member experience.

Most recently, John worked at the American Association for Justice, where he lead the membership-marketing initiatives for recruitment and retention, and oversaw the marketing  for most of the association’s product and services departments. Before joining AAJ, was the director of marketing at MCI USA where he held client roles including, managing director for the Public Media Business Association, and vice president of marketing for the electronic retailing association. The Californian has a BS in Instructional Technology and a BA in Communication Design from California State University, Chico. He is a frequent presenter at ASAE and has served on their Communication Section Council, CAE Exam Committee is a graduate of their Leadership Academy, has served on their Communication Section Council, and CAE Exam Committee John has held the CAE designation since 2014.
