Today, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) released the Retail Sustainability Management Resource Library. Developed with the help of CB&I, the Resource Library provides tools, case studies, and organizations to help retailers take their sustainability programs to the next level.
The Resource Library is organized around the Retail Sustainability Management Maturity Matrix, released in April, which helps executives identify pathways to strong environmental sustainability programs. When used together, the two tools allow retail sustainability executives to benchmark their company's sustainability initiatives, chart next steps for their programs, and access educational tools and case studies to guide them as they accomplish their organization's sustainability goals.
Like the Maturity Matrix, the Resource Library is divided into seven sections, including: Strategy & Commitment, People & Tools, Visibility, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Products, and Environmental Issues. Within each section, users can find educational tools, case studies, and opportunities for involvement and collaboration in larger sustainability programs.
"Our hope is that the Resource Library, in conjunction with the Maturity Matrix, will establish itself as an invaluable resource for any and all retailers who are interested in improving sustainability practices," said Adam Siegel, vice president for sustainability and retail operations at RILA. "RILA thanks CB&I for their hard work in the development process, and we look forward to seeing more retail sustainability programs come to fruition with the help of these tools."
