The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) announced that
Allie Brandenburger has joined the association as Director of Communications.
Prior to joining RILA, Brandenburger served as Regional Press Secretary for
Romney for President 2012.
As part of RILA’s communications team, Brandenburger will work to develop
communications strategies to advance RILA’s public policy and operations priorities
to external audiences. RILA’s
2013 public policy agenda, released last week, focuses on industry
priorities including tax reform, e-fairness, health care and trade.
“Allie is a talented communications professional, and we are delighted to
welcome her to the RILA team,” said Brian Dodge, senior vice president of
communications and state affairs. “Allie’s experience on Capitol Hill and in
intense campaign environments ensures she will be a strong advocate for RILA,
its members and priorities.”
In her most recent role, Brandenburger oversaw day-to-day press operations for
the presidential campaign in 16 states across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic
region, including Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Before joining the Romney campaign, Brandenburger served as Regional Press
Secretary for the Republican National Committee, managing the communications
operations in the Northeast region. Prior to the RNC, she served as
Communications Director for Congressman Jeff Denham (R-CA), where she developed
and managed the communications strategy for the office. She also worked as
Deputy Press Secretary for Meg Whitman for Governor in 2010.
Brandenburger officially joined RILA on February 7.
