The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) issued the following statement in response to the White House release of a Fact Sheet on a National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security.
“We are encouraged by the renewed focus of President Obama and the administration around the creation of a national strategy for global supply chain security,” said Kelly Kolb, vice president of government affairs. “RILA and our members consider the safety and security of their supply chains an utmost priority, and are committed to working with federal and state agencies and other stakeholders to make improvements. Additionally, we are also happy to see federal alignment on this issue and look forward to working with the administration and agencies to find a constructive solution that enhances global supply chain security while not impeding the movement of goods,” Kolb concluded.
RILA is the trade association of the world’s largest and most innovative retail companies. RILA members include more than 200 retailers, product manufacturers, and service suppliers, which together account for more than $1.5 trillion in annual sales, millions of American jobs and more than 100,000 stores, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers domestically and abroad.
