Fall is my favorite season of the year. Sunday football (especially when the Jets are still a contender for a wild card spot!), long walks taking in the brightly colored landscape, cold nights sitting by the fire pit toasting marshmallows. The fall always seems to bring a renewed sense of energy and a flurry of activity after the lazy days of summer.
A flurry of activity is exactly what the fall has been for the RILA supply chain team. We hosted our first regional Women in Supply Chain panel and networking event. Supply chain executives from the Dallas area descended on JC Penney’s headquarters to hear industry thought leaders talk about emerging trends, priorities and challenges and to expand their local professional network. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback shared by attendees, we are looking forward to hosting future events in a market near you!
We jump started our Supply Chain Leaders Council with a kickoff meeting at a CVS distribution center in New Jersey. The two-day event afforded supply chain pyramid heads from among RILA’s membership a unique opportunity to gather in an informal setting to share insights, benchmark among their peer group, and enjoy some good-old-fashioned camaraderie.
We also commissioned several benchmarking surveys at the request of RILA member companies. Adapting to Chassis Management Changes in U.S. Ports and Retail Supply Chain Organizational Structures are some of the topics we addressed through surveys.
RILA’s Retail Supply Chain Conference is only three months away and our steering committee continues to work hard to deliver a best-in-class educational and networking event. The program includes emerging information, expert speakers and countless networking opportunities that you won’t want to miss. For the discount shoppers among our readership…register before November 22 to receive a $200 discount off the regular registration rate.
You can read more about the conference and all of our supply chain initiatives in this newsletter. Of course, if you have questions or you want to learn more about how you can engage in RILA’s supply chain offerings, feel free to reach out to me.
As Thanksgiving nears, I want to extend my best wishes to you for a wonderful holiday.
