RILA Committee Highlight – Operational Audit Committee
Written by Faith Clark, Senior Manager, Loss Prevention, Publix Super Markets & RILA Operational Audit Committee Chair
The Operational Audit Committee is a group of key retail industry partners that have formed together to discuss topics that relate to various audit and compliance issues we all face. This strategic partnership allows for networking and benchmarking opportunities regarding issues that affect each and every one of us.
By creating an environment where each participant is able to share and listen to what others are doing to combat various issues we face in our audit and analysis processes, we are all able to learn and consider new issues as well as mitigating solutions.
Discussions surrounding better or more effective location selection, scheduling, audit methods, scoring methods, action plan development, accountability and responsibility, and analysis of results are just some of the topics that have been discussed that allow us all to be more effective and efficient. A shared database of redacted audit templates is available to all committee members who submit their templates for sharing. This provides a unique opportunity to view various methods employed by the participants.
The committee is a strategic partnership for engaged retailers that allows each to take advantage of the experience and expertise of others involving audit and analytic issues. As a member of RILA, if you or a member of your AP/LP team is interested in participating on the committee, please contact Kelly Foelber at firstname.lastname@example.org.
