Jason Coren of Petsmart sits down with RILA to share what excites him about Loss Prevention, what his challenges are, and what drove him to pursue a career in retail Loss Prevention.

Dennis Wamsley, Director of Loss Prevention & Safety at Publix Super Markets, Inc., embodies all of the qualities of a great leader: visionary; driven; focused; cooperative; passionate; humble. These qualities have contributed to Dennis’ overall success at Publix, have helped him assume leadership roles on RILA’s Asset Protection Leaders Council and Loss Prevention Steering Committee and have earned him the respect of industry executives. We interviewed Dennis to find out what makes him tick.

On March 19-20, Checkpoint hosted RILA’s Asset Protection Leaders Council at their headquarters in Thorofare, New Jersey. Top retail AP executives and product manufacturers gathered to learn, collaborate, benchmark and network with industry peers.

The CAB (Crimes Against Business) committee is a group of key retail industry partners that have formed together to discuss topics that relate to various criminal behavior that we all face. This group/committee is a strategic partnership that allows for networking or benchmarking opportunities throughout the year on topics that affect each and every one of us.

March 2013 - In the last edition of the "Letter from Lisa" in January, Lisa looked back and recapped 2012. As I begin my role with RILA, I want to look forward into 2013 and beyond, focusing on the core RILA asset protection offerings in this first edition of the "Letter from Garth."

February 2013 - For purposes of this letter, I am going to deviate from my mantra of “never looking back.” I think the year’s end presents an important opportunity to share our accomplishments with the industry and provide context for our 2013 roadmap.

April 2012 - It is hard to believe it has almost been a year since the loss prevention community convened for RILA's 2011 Loss Prevention, Audit & Safety Conference (LPAS). Well, it has and the 2012 LPAS is rapidly approaching and we have a terrific program in store for what looks to be yet another record setting group.

November 2011 - With the official start of the holiday season just two weeks away, loss prevention executives from RILA member companies have been busy holding down their respective forts, preparing for the many challenges that rear their ugly heads this time of year.
