LP Certification News
LPC coursework is complete!
During the past several years, hundreds of Loss Prevention professionals have worked diligently to develop a multi-tiered certification program – something designed to measure core competencies at different levels and to establish a shared foundation and common language. As you know, the LPQ was launched and is fully implemented. We are proud to announce that the LPC coursework is complete and awaiting some final reviews and changes before it is soft launched. This is a significant accomplishment. It is almost 1,220 pages of text material compared to the LPQ at 500 pages. It is sixmodules compared to three. Now it is time to assemble the question writers and finalize the exam. That should be complete the first part of next year. We plan to launch the LPC coursework this fall. Stay tuned!
Credibility & Academic acceptance
Due to the special modules on safety/risk management and crisis management, we approached the National Institute for Safety & Health (NIOSH) for their review. As a result of their review, we are pleased to announce that we are finalizing a letter of understanding for an ongoing partnership. This will give LPF access to vast amounts of educational materials going forward.
LPF has also been successful in obtaining credit for the LPQ & LPC as three credits towards a master degree at Eastern Kentucky University. Our long-term objective is to acquire academic acceptance at the baccalaureate level, which would offer a tremendous benefit to the thousands of LP professionals who never finished their degrees.
What is also special about obtaining academic acceptance is that now many tuition reimbursement programs may cover the expense of these certifications since the courseware has been scrutinized by curriculum review and acknowledged as college-level material.
International Appeal
Other countries have expressed an interest in our certification programs. As you know, we have launched into Canada, and both the United Kingdom and China have started serious discussions with us as well.
