LPC Exam Available April 1st!
The LPC Exam Committee convened on February 18-19 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, NJ to create and finalize the LPC exam. The session was lead by Knapp & Associates International, a professional credentialing firm based out of Princeton, NJ. The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions and is based off of the 1200 pages of the LPC course text material. It will be offered starting April 1st at the same proctoring locations throughout the US that currently administer the LPQ. LPF will be presenting during the general session during the Monday lunch. Come meet your LP Foundation board of directors, its charter members and check out the certification content. This will be a thought provoking session discussing the benefits of certification. Additional information and course demonstrations will be offered at the LPF exhibit hall booth.
Tuition Reimbursement for LPQ & LPC
The LPQ & LPC are qualifying for tuition reimbursement under many retail tuition reimbursement programs since they are both accepted for university credit. Check with your human resource department to see if it qualifies. A great way to get funding for certification.
Academic Committee Appointment
On March 11, 2010, The Loss Prevention Foundation’s board of directors also confirmed Stephen J. Rosen, PhD as a new member of its Academic Committee. Dr Rosen is with Fairleigh Dickinson University. FDU is also the university that has approved the LPQ & LPC for bachelor degree credit. Individuals are chosen to participate on this committee based on their academic credentials as well as their interest in contributing to the advancement of the retail loss prevention community. Dr. Rosen has extensive expertise in economics and employment arbitration.
LPF’s Newest Masters Level Partner
The Loss Prevention Foundation and Iverify recently signed an agreement that will certify every Iverify associate monitoring a retail establishment as LPQualified. With nearly 200 associates to certify, Iverify has also received status as an official LPQualified (LPQ) and LPCertified (LPC) testing facility to administer both proctored examinations.
LPF & NIOSH Sign Collaborative Agreement
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership to improve occupational health and safety conditions at retail and wholesale workplaces throughout the United States. Retailers benefit from this partnership because it brings valuable safety and risk management information right to their fingertips which improves education.
