As you wrap up your spring season activities and continue preparations for summer, RILA is also preparing for the next season’s activities. In February we wrapped up our most successful Logistics Conference ever, having welcomed a record breaking attendance of more than 1,000 supply chain executives to Orlando for the industry's best networking and superior educational sessions. Planning is already underway for Logistics 2011 and we welcome ideas for sessions at next year’s conference.
RILA has two brand new events on the horizon—the Retail Mobile Executive Summit in July and Retail Law Conference in November. Our Environmental Sustainability & Compliance Conference continues to bring retail decision makers and thought leaders together to discuss the latest in environmental best practices. This year’s conference will be held September 22-24 and features tracks that include product design & packaging and facilities design & energy management.
Our Transportation & Infrastructure, Supply Chain Security, International Trade and Product Safety committees continue to engage with the policy and regulatory issues of top concern for your supply chain operations in 2010. The Technical Advisory Committee’s many labors are bearing fruit as the Global Standard for Consumer Products publishes in North America this month. RILA also applauds partner organization Coalition for Responsible Transportation (CRT) for its work in assisting the Port of New York and New Jersey to develop its recently announced Clean Truck Program.
RILA strives to provide our members with latest industry research and benchmarking. A brand new study on freight payment practices, produced in partnership with American Shipper, is now available to download and the 2010 edition of our transportation procurement benchmark study is currently underway. A RILA and Aberdeen study on Strengthening Cross-Channel Retail Supply Chain Execution is also ongoing and the 2010 edition of RILA and Auburn University’s annual State of the Retail Supply Chain Study will launch this month.
As you can see, RILA continues look for new opportunities to serve our member companies and we welcome your ideas on ways that we can better support your operations. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
