H1N1 Virus Update
RILA is carefully following the news regarding the breakout of the H1N1 Virus, also known as swine flu. For well over a week, RILA has engaged with the federal response agencies including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to discuss the implications of the outbreak on consumers, employees and retail operations. Through these conversations, RILA has been assured that common sense planning and preparation are the most effective preventative measures to avoid contracting the virus.Accordingly, RILA is working with the Gaylord Hotel to take the following precautions during next week’s Loss Prevention, Auditing, and Safety Conference:
Once in Orlando, the RILA team, working closely with hotel officials, will continue to monitor health advisories, provide updates to attendees and adjust programming and accommodations as necessary. In fact, Andrea Schultz, Deputy Branch Chief with the Department of Homeland Security, will provide up-to-the-minute news on the latest H1N1 Virus information at her session.
