The Financial Leaders Council (FLC) is made up of the senior Finance, Treasury and/or Controller executives within RILA's retail membership. The FLC’s mission is to form positions on issues of financial reporting and audit, and to advocate on behalf of the retail industry on financial matters that affect the majority of retail industry members. The group discusses operational challenges related to audits, financial procedures and reporting, and in the process, identifies industry best practices and benchmarks. The long-term goal of the FLC is to communicate these learnings and help government agencies and rule-makers develop a more accurate understanding of retail industry financial practices. We believe this will lead to smarter and more effective regulation. The FLC meets in-person annually and conducts conference calls as-needed.
