Sam Reeves joined Walmart in 2002 as a senior division counsel in the tort section of the legal department’s litigation division. In 2003, Sam was promoted to senior assistant general counsel responsible for the management of outside counsel. In 2004, Sam’s responsibilities were expanded to include oversight of attorney recruiting and the legal department’s diversity initiatives. In 2006, Sam was promoted to the position of vice-president, general counsel – corporate affairs and government relations. In 2007, Sam accepted the position of vice-president, general counsel – employment practices division, and in 2009 was promoted to his current position of senior vice-president and general counsel, Walmart US.
Prior to joining Walmart, Sam clerked for Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Tom Glaze and then practiced law in Bentonville, Arkansas for eleven years.
