Certification Bodies

Third Party Auditors

Certification Bodies must complete required BRC training and registration.  They must both be accredited by their national Accreditation Body and abide by strict BRC requirements for auditor competency, reporting, and performance.

Companies looking to carry out their BRC/RILA CP-3 audit will be able to choose from approved Certification Bodies who are listed on the BRC Directory.  Only approved Certification Bodies listed on this directory can conduct the audit.  Independent or unregistered auditors are prohibited from conducting BRC/RILA CP-3 audits.

Auditors are required to have:

  • Completed BRC training for the Global Standard for Consumer Products, Issue 3 (CP-3)
  • An appropriate higher education qualification such as a degree or diploma
  • Appropriate post qualification work experience (usually around 5 years in industry)
  • A recognized third party auditor qualification
  • Qualification in HACCP or risk assessment
  • Audit experience- generally a specified number of audits including those against BRC Global Standards

Are you a Certification Body interested in sponsoring a RILA Event or Newsletter?  If so, please contact Tripp Taylor (Tripp.Taylor@rila.org), director of exhibits and sponsorships, for more details.
